Beautifully Strong

I know a girl who’s nervous laugh

Is beautiful,

And who’s confidence is hidden behind layers of make-up,

But that is not all her.

I also know a girl who’s voice can make generals cry,

And people hope.

Her hair isn’t always neat,

And never is fixed “fashionably.”

But she is beautiful.

And when the days all through,

I know a girl who cries herself to sleep,

And she is strong.
